The new owners of Boschendal have attracted a team of talented people who share their dream of making Boschendal into a top agricultural farm; a farm that produces sought after naturally produced food and great wines; and a farm where the natural environment thrives and local communities prosper.
The Into Africa team were lucky enough to spend a night in Boschendal’s luxurious cottage accommodation and to be given a tour of the property by the head of their environmental team. We were literally blown away by their commitment to serving wholesome farm-to-table food.
Event planners have a choice of 6 top venues, our favourite being the Olive Press which can accommodate up to 350 guests, banquet style.
The vineyards alone at Boschendal cover 2.54 km² between Groot Drakenstein and Simonsberg Mountains. The farms beautifully finished accommodation is set among vineyards and has mountain and farm views. At its centre guests will enjoy fine dining, a deli, a butchery offering grass-fed produce and a bakery.
The wide range of activities on offer at Boschendal makes it an appealing destination for the leisure market. These include mountain biking, hiking, horse-riding. Those that would like to relax will enjoy a spa treatment, a relax by the pool, or an extended picnic on their beautiful lawns.
For the wine tasting riedel glasses are used, meaning that each style of wine has it’s own glass, designed to accentuate its unique characteristics. We enjoyed a tasting the Boschendal’s Manor House, which dates back to 1685, when the farm was first established.
