On Friday, we had the privilege of attending the l On Friday, we had the privilege of attending the launch of Fourteen - a powerful new tour focused on the 14 months Nelson Mandela spent at Victor Verster Prison, during the transition between his incarceration and eventual release.

Hosted by Andrew Russell, the experience offered such a personal perspective on this important chapter in South Africa’s history.

One of the highlights was hearing from Jack Swart, the prison guard and chef who prepared Mandela’s meals and spent time with him daily. He shared personal memories and anecdotes that brought the story to life in a way no history book ever could.

We also had the honour of meeting Jean Doyle, the sculptor behind the iconic Nelson Mandela statue at the prison gates - an image recognised around the world.

A truly special and moving experience, and a reminder that some of the most powerful stories are found in the smaller, more personal moments behind history.
